I am just a small town girl. I grew up spending my summers on the farm and Sundays in church. I have traveled and lived other places, but Olive Hill is where I will always call home.
On Being Me:Well, I like me.
But, opinions vary.
On Being A Mom:It is the single greatest, scariest, hardest, and rewarding thing I have ever done.
Never once, did I ever dream that I would be a single mom. I'm not sure why. It could be that I grew up in one of those becoming increasingly rarer 2-parent homes. One where mom and dad fell in love and stayed in love. On the other hand, it could possibly be because I'm an overly optimistic dreamer who prefers living in a reality obscured by fantasy.
Nonetheless, I am very fortunate to have an amazing network to call upon for help. My Mother (aka Grammie) is, without a doubt, my greatest asset. I won't say I couldn't do it without her, but I'm glad I don't have to. :)
I'm also lucky enough that my support network includes my former inlaws, my ex, his wife and her family as well. It's like one huge extended family. Hey, they say it takes a village!
